Michel Béroff is a great specialist of Russian piano music, as shown by his remarkable Mussorgsky and Stravinsky recordings for EMI in the 1970s, as well as his sharp renditions of Prokofiev’s works (sonatas, Visions fugitives, and the complete piano concertos conducted by Kurt Masur). On the occasion of our Prokofiev focus on the 70th anniversary of his death (5th March) we release this collection of solo piano recordings that rank very high in Prokofiev’s discography.
