Wagner: Lohengrin

In the early 1980s, Herbert von Karajan put the finishing touches to his great cycle of Wagner operas, accompanied in the studio by the Berliner Philharmoniker at the peak of their powers. This is a considerable achievement that ranks among the pantheon of the discography, thanks to its innate sense of drama, its dazzling orchestra and its vocal soloists, who are among the greatest. This Lohengrin is no exception to the rule, with the amazing René Kollo in the title role.
