Tchaikovsky: Piano Trio

This was the first recording made by the distinguished trio of Perlman, Lynn Harrell and Vladimir Ashkenazy. Tchaikovsky conceived his piano trio — characteristically rich in melody and emotion — as a tribute to his friend and mentor, the pianist Nikolai Rubinstein, who had died in 1881.
