Marie-Claire Alain, who considered recording sessions to be among her most beautiful musical experiences, performs in this release from the L’Encyclopédie de l’orgue series the organ works of Johann Pachelbel. Recorded across Switzerland using the Metzler organ at the Catholic Church of Baden and the three Bossart-Metzler organs of Muri Abbey, this repertoire showcases Pachelbel's mastery of liturgical forms and highlights the deep musical lineage between Bach and Pachelbel - the later was a close friend of the Bach family and famously taught Johann Sebastian’s older brother, who in turn introduced the young genius to Pachelbel’s influential style.
