Fertility, abundance, and creativity are never immediate states; they emerge after a process, after effort, after endurance. In my mind, fertility is something that comes after struggle, after climbing uphill, after a phase of intensity and persistence. It’s not just about creation but about the journey that leads to it.
This piece reflects that process. The introduction carries a sense of tension, a feeling of something being pulled or stretched, as if every note comes with a cost. The sound of the exposed piano strings and their pure vibrations create a sensation as if something is breaking off inside with every keystroke. There is a weight, a resistance, a sense of holding on. Then, suddenly, everything shifts: the tension dissolves, the process completes, and the piece moves into a space of clarity, openness, and light.
For me, this transformation embodies the fertility motif. I wanted to explore what this word could represent in sound—how it feels to go through the tension before reaching abundance. This piece unfolds like a story, moving from one scene to another rather than relying on repeated motifs. It was an experimental journey for me, allowing me to approach composition in a new way, both structurally and emotionally.
