To commemorate the centenary of the great Belgian mezzo-soprano Rita Gorr (who died in 2012). This immense tragedian was a pillar of the Paris Opera, where she enjoyed the greatest successes of her very long career. In particular, she stepped in at short notice to replace Maria Callas, who was originally scheduled to play the title role in the Paris premiere of Cherubini's French version of Médée at the Palais Garnier. Although she later regretted this choice, as the role was so demanding on her voice, she left behind a recording that bears witness to her magnetic presence.
