Apart from his legendary performances of Shostakovich’ symphonies (Nos. 5, 6, 7, 10 & 11), which we have already re-issued a few weeks ago, Paavo Berglund also recorded concertante pieces by the Russian composer, surrounded by cellist Paul Tortelier and pianist Cristina Ortiz. This recording also includes youth pieces for solo piano (the Fantastic Dances).
