In 1995, the American tenor Rockwell Blake, a great specialist in bel canto and Rossini in particular, released an album focusing not on his famous opera arias, but on his lesser-known melodies. Many of these date from the master's final creative period, when he composed miniatures or character pieces for the enjoyment of Parisian high society in what he called his “Sins of Old Age”. Antonio Pappano is at the piano in this little gem of an album, finally made available to digital partners!
