The fifth volume of Ton Koopman’s cycle of Bach organ works is recorded on the sumptuous Silbermann organ of the cathedral of Freiberg, Saxony. This volume is devoted to the complete German Organ Mass, perhaps the most ambitious collection Bach ever composed for the instrument, and the beautiful variations on the Christmas hymn Vom Himmel hoch da komm' ich her.
