The Shoemaker

The Shoemaker, showcases a very creative, fun aspect of the ensemble, not something you would expect from a classical quartet. Tried in concerts with tremendous success, The Shoemaker single is a first recording of something totally different from the vision string quartet.

The piece sets a 'groove' using a number of versatile sounds made with stringed instruments (e.g. bass drum on cello, rhythmical patterns by chopping, body percussion). At its heart is a pure, overwhelming joy in playing and music-making, which transmits from performer to listener through the music.
