Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition & Night on the Bare Mountain

Here is a new tribute album to Christoph von Dohnányi, who passed away in September 2025. At the helm of the Cleveland Orchestra, he conducts a recording entirely devoted to Mussorgsky, including Pictures at an Exhibition in Ravel’s orchestration, and the original version of the thrilling symphonic poem Night on the Bare Mountain (which at the time, in 1867, was still called St. John’s Eve on Bald Mountain and had not yet achieved success in Rimsky-Korsakov’s revised version).
