We will be soon celebrating Manuel Barrueco’s 70th birthday (December 16th), with a boxset gathering his complete recordings for EMI in the 80s and the 90s. The Cuban guitarist was praised for the stunning tone variety of his playing, but also for his incredible ability as a transcriber, from early music to modern pieces, and even famous tunes of the Beatles! This album includes four beautiful arrangements from Bach’s monumental sonatas and partitas for solo violin, which shed a new light on these masterpieces while being very respectful of Bach’s spirit.
