Orchestre de Paris - Ravel

One of the leading orchestral institutions in France, the Orchestre de Paris particularly excels in local repertoire, and notably Ravel’s music, thanks to its unique tone color. This album gathers the best recordings conducted by such figures as Charles Munch (co-founder of the orchestra), Michel Plasson, Seiji Ozawa (accompanied by Alexis Weissenberg in the piano concerto in G) and of course Jean Martinon, whose 1974 renditions of Ravel’s major orchestral pieces are still absolute references.
