Beethoven: Fidelio, Op. 72

Here comes the last opera from our Klemperer vocal retrospective, and it is a memorable version of Beethoven’s only operatic work, with a stellar cast in which Christa Ludwig radiates in the title role. This milestone version comes with three alternate versions of Leonore overtures intended as opening piece of this opera previously recorded by Otto Klemperer with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
