Paul Tortelier was one of the most influential figures in cello playing in the last century. A great concert performer and teacher, he graced the world's greatest stages throughout a career spanning more than fifty years. Afterwards, he enjoyed returning to the comfort of his home, where he played and recorded extensively with his family, including his wife Maud, his son Yan Pascal or his daughter Maria de la Pau, who accompanies him here on the piano in Mendelssohn's sonatas. A performance in which the intergenerational bond is evident!
