Let’s wish Jean-Philippe Collard a very happy 75th birthday on this January 27th! One of the figureheads of EMI France for twenty years, he particularly excelled in the French repertoire (his Fauré recordings are an absolute must-have). In this album he teams up with the great Debussy performer Michel Béroff in pieces for two pianos and piano four-hands, including the rare Symphony, a transcription of the Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune, and two Nocturnes arranged by Maurice Ravel.
