Antonio Pappano wins Opera Award

Congratulations to Antonio Pappano, who was named Conductor of the Year at the inaugural International Opera Awards.

"It’s a great honour to receive the Conductor of the Year award. Especially so that I can give the lions share of the credit where it belongs, to my wondrous orchestra at the Royal Opera House," Antonio said, "They combine great musicianship and imagination with a rare dramatic flare which makes my job an absolute joy. Bravo too, to my esteemed colleagues in the conductors category; an awesome group."

Antonio Pappano's new album, a recording of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, was released on April 15. To find out more about the album click here.
