TRANSITION is a project that marks a turning point in the musical journey of pianist María Parra. After years of exploring the classical repertoire, creating piano works with a modern, fused style, and experimenting with her trio formation — a more hybrid sound with jazz echoes — the pianist now ventures into a new territory: composing and producing her own music in a digital environment, always with the piano as the main voice.
This album represents a transition into a new sonic world, but it is also a journey between dimensions: from wakefulness to dream, from the classical piano to the exploration of new textures, from the earthly to the ethereal — a journey inward, toward that space where the subconscious speaks through symbols, images, and resonances.
The album is tuned to 432Hz, which can offer a more relaxing and emotionally connected listening experience, often associated with natural harmony and well-being. Some of the pieces also emphasize gamma frequencies (between 30 and 100Hz), which are linked to higher cognitive functions such as concentration, memory, and attention.
