Alicia de Larrocha, whose reputation in the piano music of her native Spain remains unrivalled, had close personal links to the composer Enrique Granados: he was a family friend who taught both her mother and her aunt. Complementing this treasury of his piano works are live performances of two sets of his songs, in which de Larrocha is joined by another supreme Catalan musician, the soprano Victoria de los Angeles.
