November 6th will mark 350 years since the death of Heinrich Schütz. It will be a time for exploring our best recordings of this composer, the father of German music and the greatest figure of the 17th century with Monteverdi (to whom he owes very much). The Hilliard Ensemble was a true specialist of this music and gave a splendid version of Schütz’ very last collection entitled Swan Song, the musical setting of two psalms and a Magnificat.
