Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc, Jean Françaix
The very eclectic Sharon Kam, perfectly at ease in all kind of repertoires from contemporary music to jazz, was the most promising clarinetist of her generation when she started her collaboration with Teldec, for whom she would record five highly-praised albums. Her debut album, recorded with the remarkable chamber musician Itamar Golan, highlights two major pieces of the French repertoire: Debussy’s first rhapsody and Poulenc’s late sonata, his penultimate work. Also includes a witty Tema con variazioni by Jean Françaix, and famous pieces by Schumann.
