Dubbed “America’s fastest-rising husband-and-wife opera stars” (Associated Press) and praised for their “palpable chemistry” (New York Times), Pérez (soprano) and Costello (tenor) are growing quickly as “Opera’s new star couple”: they both have been honored as winner of the prestigious Richard Tucker Award (Perez 2012, Costello 2009) and now team up for operatic duets.
The new “Romeo and Juliet” of the worldwide opera stages sing together the best known and popular love duets, predominantly operatic repertoire, as well as a few special moments from musical theatre, from “The Cherry Duet” of Mascagni (L’Amico Fritz) to “Ah! Leve-toi solei” of Gounod (Romeo and Juliet). A unique project that give us the opportunity to promote the new “Alagna and Gheorghiu”.
